Sept 2, 2009 Introduction/Summary
Calling all socially responsible designers! We need you to help us find our next project!

We are challenging all socially responsible designers and creative individuals who have a vested interest in our community to seek out projects that protect our planet.

The core objective of the competition is to inspire, educate and reach out to local San Diego residents and visitors as well as build global, environmental and artistic awareness throughout our city. The challenge is open to anyone or any group of passionate and talented individuals to conceptualize potential socially responsible projects that focus not only on architecture and community building but also on education and social awareness. Projects can range in scope and scale. The winning entry will be selected by a panel of judges who share an overall commitment to our natural environment with various awards being handed out. We look forward to seeing your work!

*Inspiration
What inspires you to design? Is it your community, your environment and surroundings? Check out the blog for any inspiration!

Design Guidelines
We will be looking for socially responsible projects that will inspire, educate and raise awareness on environmental and social needs within our community.

Projects must be located within the County of San Diego

Submissions may fall in one or more of the following categories but are not limited to: architecture, interior design, landscape design, graphic design, public art, urban planning, product design, environmental design, furniture design, industrial design, etc.

Submission shall focus on solving practical needs and not unrealistic dreams!

Entrants must design with a conscience and take into consideration the scale of their project and any budget restraints.

Rebuild will assist the winner in seeking funds for their proposal, so bear in mind, a smaller budget is a reasonable budget and obviously a $100,000 project may be more difficult to fundraise versus a $15,000 project.

Submissions must enhance the welfare and interests of our society as well as the organization

*Entry Fee
Each Entry: $25 (You may submit an unlimited amount of entries!)

All checks or money orders can be made payable to:
  • Architecture for Humanity
  • (Please note Project Find on check)
